What We Will Not Do
We don't touch every door problem
And we'd rather tell you that up front than waste your afternoon. A lot of the houses in this part of Fairfax went up between 1940 and 2015, with most of that stock dating to the 1960s and '70s - which means we see the same handful of door and opener generations over and over. That's useful, because it means we actually know the parts. It also means we're not set up to chase down obsolete hardware on a door nobody makes parts for anymore; if your track system or opener predates anything we can source, we'll say so instead of charging you for a repair that won't hold.
We also won't recommend a new door when a spring, cable, or roller job will do the same thing for less
Cold-climate swings put real strain on torsion springs and weatherstripping here, and sometimes that strain shows up as a full assembly problem rather than one bad part - but we'll show you what's actually broken before we tell you to replace anything. If a repair isn't worth doing, we'll tell you that too, instead of running up a bill on a door that's better off replaced.
Contacting Us
Call us at (571) 517-9410. We're based at 3975 Fair Ridge Dr, Fairfax, VA 22033, and that's also where you'd find us if you need to drop by rather than call.
When you reach out, have the basics ready: what the door is doing (or not doing), whether it's a single or double, and roughly how old the house is. Given how much of the housing in this area dates to the 1960s and '70s, that age detail alone often tells us which generation of torsion hardware or opener we're dealing with before we even pull up to the curb.
Where We Travel
We work out from Fairfax across the surrounding area, which covers a wide mix of housing from the 1940s through 2015 - median build year sits around 1978, so a lot of what we see is original torsion hardware on side-mount openers that nobody stocks parts for at the big box stores anymore.
Our travel range runs from about a mile southwest, out through Mantua, Merrifield, and Wakefield within a few miles, and further out to Fairfax Station, Dunn Loring, Idylwood, Wolf Trap, North Springfield, West Springfield, Pimmit Hills, Clifton, and Falls Church. Beyond that we still reach Lake Barcroft, Lincolnia, Bailey's Crossroads, Yorkshire, Manassas Park, Franconia, Newington, Bull Run, Great Falls, Rose Hill, Lorton, Sudley, Groveton, Fort Belvoir, Woodlawn, Hybla Valley, and Belle Haven.
Across that whole area, the median household income runs around $143,796 and the housing mix includes roughly 68,635 owner-occupied houses out of about 181,054 households total. That's a lot of driveways and a lot of different door ages, which is exactly why we keep a broad range of hardware on hand rather than specializing in one era.
